Who is Singapore's enemy ? ...

According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, Asia is the world's top importer of weapons. With loads and loads of cash and forever harbouring suspicions on its closest neighbours, I am not surprised that India is the top importer. In terms of volumes of weapons, its import is 10% compared to its nemesis Pakistan at 5%. China by sheer size imports as much as Pakistan while South Korea's volumes of weapons is 6% - which is understandable - since it's always at loggerheads with North Korea.

But the real surprise is Singapore which imports 4% in weapons volume, clearly highly disproportionate to its population and its land size. If one looks at the map, Singapore is a tiny fraction of the size of Johore and sometimes when one zooms out in Google Earth, the letter S fully covers up the whole island. Weapons imports by Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and Philipine are too small as to be not worth being reported by the Research Institute.

Who is Singapore's enemy ? Vietnam ? Hardly. Thailand or Indonesia ? Unlikely. Philipine ? Also unlikely since it's too far away. Obviously Singapore is preparing for a war with Malaysia.
