Internet is now slow ...

Has anybody noticed lately that the internet is now slow ? I have been wondering whether there is a subtle conspiracy perpetrated by my internet service provider (ISP) to persuade its customers to subscribe to the new package which it claims, for RM 150/= per month, you can have minimum of 5.0 megabit high speed broadband (HSBB) as compared to the current one of 1.0 megabits.

The conspiracy is that, in the last couple of months, I find that my internet speed is slowing down. Now, it takes me longer to boot up webpages, new or cached ones, or articles in the webpages. Downloading of youtube videos now come in spurts. Even downloading images take far longer time than it used to.

Not that my computer is not powerful It is an IMac with a high memory. I regularly clear my cache of unwanted data that tend to slow down computer speed.

No..... It must be the internet service provider who is now attempting to promote their HSBB packages by purposely slowing down the present internet speed to frustrate their current customers to subscribe to the new packages at a higher price of course.

How the ISP does it, I have no idea. My guess is that the culprit physically slow down the transmission or congest it by adding more subscribers beyond the capacity of the internet system.
