Do as I say ....

I chanced to read Tengku Razaleigh's views on asset declaration by all ministers in the government. He believes that the ministers on whom the people has entrusted them to look after the public's money should all be honourable. Apparently, he reckons that institutionalised corruption has been the norm in the country and ministers are seen to be living beyond their means.

Very good, coming from a politician and an ex-minister. But before you start suggesting to these ministers as to what to do, why not you yourself declare your assets first. Show us how rich or how poor you are and then we, the public, will believe in you as being a credible politician. Otherwise, all what you are suggesting is simply hot air.

Update 11/10/10 17:35 hrs:
Tengku Razaleigh has been persuaded to lead BN in order for it to win the Galas bye-election in Kelantan. Razaleigh is the current BN member of Parliament for Gua Musang Kelantan. He has never lost this seat even when he was opposed to UMNO at one time. UMNO reckons that, with Razaleigh leading the charge, BN's chances of taking back the State seat from PAS are good. For years, BN has never been able to win Kelantan from PAS because of the popularity of its incorruptible leader Nik Aziz.

Update: 11/11/2010: In the 2 bye-elections held a week ago, BN won both of them.
