The biggest joke I read today in UM was about Kelantan's Koperasi Al-Hilal or Kohilal which suffered a loss of RM 45 million. The Kelantan state government said that the loss was not due to mismanagement, such as corruption, embezzlement, CBTs or things like that. It's probably due to errors in accounting.
My take is that some people in the co-operative there don't know how to count - like for example, instead of giving a loan of RM 1,500, it's mistakenly giving a loan of RM 15,000, but booked as RM 1,500. Applied to over several thousand co-op members taking loans (since this is what cooperatives are for) the blunder can easily go into the millions of ringgit.
