When is he going to shut up ?
Every time he opens his mouth, there is always a problem. He is absolutely tactless when talking about countries other than his own or persons other than him. If he knows that a country is corrupted, he announces to the world that the country is rife with corruption. If he thinks a person is a bastard (which may be possibly true - that the person was born illegitimately ), he likes to say openly that that person is a bastard, even though the person could be his good friend.
He likes to talk bad about Asian countries or Asian personalities, especially ASEAN countries and ASEAN politicians. He never talks bad about countries in the West, As a matter of fact he's scared stiff to say bad things about USA even though USA have done horrendously bad things like committing an illegal war in the Middle-East.
If an American or a European or even an Australian is found to commit a serious crime like homicide or drug distribution - a crime that carries the death sentence in his country, he squirms in his shoes when the US President complains about his harsh laws and he is likely to mitigate the sentence. If however an Asian is caught committing the same crime, he does not hesitate to hang the culprit.
His pet prejudice is Malaysia because once he dreamt of ruling the country and failed. He says a lot of bad things about Malaysia and her politicians and enjoys announcing it to the world, knowing that Malaysia is "afraid" to react. He's sore that a part of Malaysia divides his country into two for the next 900 years. He prefers to call the white rock outcrop as Pedra Branca rather than the Malay word Batu Puteh. He would rather have a Portuguese (who has no business in this region) own the outcrops rather than anybody else especially a Malaysian. He has conned Malaysia into selling Malaysian water for a mere 3 cents (or sen) per 1,000 gallons and selling at huge profits and even threatens war if Malaysia cuts off the water supply. He has a war plan to conquer Peninsular Malaysia which he continuously updates by way of acquiring sophisticated weapons from the West and having a large army including Fifth Columnists in Malaysia.
The person in question is none other than Lee Kuan Yew, a veteran minister of an island nation called Singapore. Today, for the first time in his life, he predicts Malaysia's economy to be bright from year 2008, specifically commenting on the development of areas proposed by the Prime Minister of Malaysia. He reckons Singapore stands to benefit in the development of Malaysia's southern corridor by way of land acquisition or even annexation of parts of the State of Johore if he could structure the agreement to his benefit.
The idea of developing southern Johore is actually not new. He had in fact proposed such a plan in the 1980's in the form of a growth triangle encompassing parts of Johore and Indonesia. Though some parts of Indonesia e.g. Pulau Batam and other nearby islands were developed into resort centres (which turn out be brothels, and massage parlours for bored Singaporean tourists ), there were no major economic activities in South Johore other than the construction of the Second Link at Tuas. There had been no enthusiastic response from Malaysia. There is not even a coffee shop on either side of the bridge. The only buildings there are the sterile and gloomy structures of the immigration and customs complexes on both sides manned by unfriendly officials.
Now that Malaysia's "new" idea and Singapore's old idea appear to be one and the same thing, what better way to fulfill his dream of conquest or annexation than to jack up the Malaysian Prime Minister's ego by saying good things about the future of Malaysian economy, especially when Malaysia's general election is imminently close.
Malaysia should be wary of a person bearing Greek gifts in the form of of FDIs and such, for eventually it would be Malaysia's downfall that instead of having Batu Puteh, all she has is Mata Puteh.
