Lee Kuan Yew, warmonger ...
Malaysia should and must be prepared for war with Singapore. Lee Kuan Yew has threatened war, on at least two occasions that I know of, if Malaysia threatens to cut off the water supply. It just proves that Singapore depends on Malaysia for its water, notwithstanding its boast that it can produce its version of water, the new water. If war breaks out, whatever agreements between Malaysia and Singapore following the return of the KTMB land to Singapore, automatically become null and void, to Singapore's gain and Malaysia's loss. Serves Najib right for making the deal without getting ratification from the Malaysian Parliament.
Singapore has always been preparing for war with Malaysia by the way it arms itself with the latest weaponry for its military, especially its air force. Its annual defense spending is far, far higher than Malaysia's. And, its ground forces are armed to the teeth with sophisticated weapons manned not only by the regular army but also by the reservists which comprise most of its able-bodied citizens. In contrast, Malaysia's air force fighters have seen better days and those ageing Russian Sukhois are no match for Singapore's pristine USA F35s. A look at some of the recruiting advertisements in Singapore show Singaporean soldiers manning what look to me like highly sophisticated assault rifles and other gadgets. As for the Malaysian navy, the less said about our submarines the better.
What do we have against Singapore ? Nothing, except more people. Are our soldiers better trained ? I doubt it, except for the slight advantage that we have had combat experience, fighting communist guerillas in the jungle. Our reservists are trained at boot camps for 3 to 6 months learning how to climb trees, swim in the rivers, but never to handle weapons. What's more, half of them are girls in their teens. Can we fight if Singaporeans attack us ?
However, all is not lost. Singapore's main weakness is its population concentrated in the city and the HDB flats. It is therefore extremely vulnerable to bombardment from the air, by missiles, or simply by cannon fire. [Lee Kuan Yew has foreseen this - that's why he built the MRT underground to protect the population, like Londoners in WWII]. Malaysia's weakness is the Chinese fifth columnists in the form of DAPs who have been PAP's supporters all this while, as if Malaysians don't know.
Update 15/09/2011: In a blog on Lee Kuan Yew's favourable comments on Najib, again this LKY fellow mentioned "War" should someone in Malaysia start thinking of getting back the land in Tanjung Pagar. His statement reflected his desire to have a fight with Malaysia on the slightest of excuse. In fact, not long ago, Lee Kuan Yew even boasted that he could take on both Malaysia and Indonesia simultaneously. Malaysia beware ! We must be prepared !
What would be Singapore's strategy to occupy Malaysia. Lee Kuan Yew would not want to conquer all of Malaysia because it would be expensive for him since Malaysia means not only the Peninsula but Sabah and Sarawak. For the time being, it's too big for him. A lot of money would be spent just to look after the occupying forces, let alone fighting insurrection all over the country. No; he would be interested in Johore only; not all of it however, only the southern parts of Johore namely portions that include the 2 ports, the airport, the military bases, and towns with large Chinese populations such as Johor Bharu, Batu Pahat, Muar Kulai and so on. This would be Lee Kuan Yew's overall strategy.
How would he carry out to achieve his strategy ? First of all, he has to destroy Malaysia's capability to fight back. It would be blitzkrieg attacks using his radar-proof F35 fighters on airforce and naval bases in Kuantan, Butterworth, Lumut and so on followed by attacks on army bases and strategic installations such as oil refineries, depots, signal towers and so on all over the country. This is all carried out by the SAF, Pearl Harbour style. The initial shock of bombardment is enough to demoralise the Malaysian military and population. Having destroyed Malaysia's capability to mount an immediate counter attack within a day or two (at the most 3 days), LKY orders his paramiltary forces to occupy all the military and strategic installations in Johore. Once secured, only then would LKY send his main invasion force through the causeway and the Tuas Bridge. Most of his armoured vehicles and all his tanks will cross through the causeway. [Ever wonder, why Singapore has consistently refused to co-operate with Malaysia to replace the causeway with a bridge. All this talk by Goh Chok Tong, of sentimental attachments as reasons for preserving the causeway is all bull]. His ground forces would then occupy Pasir Gudang and Tanjung Pelepas, Sinai Airport, the Sultan's Palace and any military base and installation within a day of the causeway crossing. He has to do it fast while the Malaysian military is still reeling and disorganised under the last few days of the initial bombardment. Meanwhile, his reservists are kept at home, well armed and ready to deter any instances of counter attacks by Malaysia that Singapore may have overlooked. After one week, Singapore has full control of Johore.
