Ian Rush is not in a hurry ...

In a desperate attempt to stem the degradation of Malaysian football, the FAM has hired the services of Ian Rush who, in his playing days at Liverpool, had been a prolific goal scorer. The idea is to get Ian Rush to improve the striking power of the Malaysian team. For all I care, the FAM can also hire Maradona, or Del Piero, or Zinadine Zidane or even all  four together to improve the standard of Malaysian football. The sad fact still remains that, at best, after a years training, the Malaysian team will manage to beat Vietnam or Nepal.

After watching the African Nations Cup tournament, I was impressed with the skill and determination of African footballers. The worst team in the tournament could easily beat the Malaysian team hands down.

At last, BNM breaks the resistance level ..

BNM proudly announced that its IFR is RM 361.6 billion as at 31/01/2008. That's more than a USD 100 billion. This amount, it said, could sustain 9.2 months of imports and 6.2 times its short term external debts. With commodities rising rapidly in price, its about time that BNM's reserve attained this level. The question is, for how long will it last ? Will it keep on increasing as it should or will it remain the same or sputter to below USD 100 billion after the general election.
