Shopping in Subang Jaya

I notice that in Subang Jaya, the prices of goods are generally 10 to 30 percent higher than for the same stuff in Kuala Lumpur. The other day at Subang Parade a salesman quoted me the price of a DV video tape that cost RM 25/= when a similar one at Low Yatt Plaza costs RM 18/=. When asked why the big difference, the shop asst. simply stated that that was the price. He's under instruction to sell at a fixed price. The difference apply to most, if not all, of the goods there.

The prices of fruits, fish, vegetables, ice cream, are also more than for similar items in any of the supermarkets in KL.
My advise to customers in Subang Jaya that if you intend to purchase expensive items in the thousands of ringgits, you can obtain enormous savings if you shop in downtown KL.
