Headaches, the figures are all different ..
The construction of the new Shah Alam General Hospital which has been abandoned by JKR because of problems with the main contractor, subcontractor, payments, etc. has been re-tendered, and its continued re-construction has been awarded to Gadang Engineering S/B, which is a subsidiary of Gadang Holdings Berhad. The contract price (or tender price) is RM 410.87 million. Never mind that this is subject to dispute [which I'll comment later in an ensuing blog article] between ministeries, viz. the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance. What I am curious about is the figure mentioned by the Health Ministry that the original tender [i.e. the worth of the tender awarded to a main contractor just before the March 2008 election] was worth some RM 491,600,000.00 (accurate to the nearest sen and underlined somemore). What I know, however, [referring back to my original comment on Nov 20, 2010 based on prior information] was that, that original tender was awarded for a total sum of RM 482,600,000.00. What happened then to the difference of RM 9,000,000.00 ?
